Clare's league final hero Tony Kelly says he doesn't really care what anyone thinks of his side's style of play, all he is worried about is winning.

Kelly's two points at the death turned defeat into victory for the Banner in yesterday's thrilling Division 1 hurling league final replay as Waterford were dethroned in Thurles.

After the sides' drawn encounter seven days previously, a number of pundits including Kilkenny's Henry Shefflin queried the defensive setup of both sides with the former Cat's star saying the exciting elements of the game were being removed in favour of efficiency.

Speaking on Newstalk Radio's Off The Ball show this evening, Kelly said he isn't worried about outside opinions just results.

"There was a lot made of the drawn game, it was dull and was kind of ruining hurling, but to be honest as players and as management in Clare, we don't really care and I think Waterford would be the same way," Kelly said.

"We're only there putting our plans in place to win trophies and win games and at the end of the day, we're not sitting up at 6 o'clock in the morning, five or six nights a week to go into Thurles and entertain, first of all. Our first priority is to win games. If it's dull and boring, as long as we're winning as players, I don't think think we'll mind."
