Clare and Waterford served up a thriller in Semple Stadium while there were notable wins for Westmeath and Offaly in the Leinster SHC. Here's our hurling team of the week...

1. Paddy Maloney (Westmeath)

Westmeath's reward for topping the Leinster SHC round-robin phase with a game to go is a last eight clash against Galway.

2. Tommy Doyle (Westmeath)

Doyle has been a model of consistency in the Lake County's march to the Leinster SHC quarter-final stages.

3. Cian Dillon (Clare)

Another fine display from the Banner joint-captain but he was a lucky man to have got away with that 'foul' on Jamie Barron.

4. Dermot Shortt (Offaly)

Shortt & Co kept their slim Leinster SHC hopes alive with a hard-earned three point victory over Carlow on home soil.

5. Aaron Craig (Westmeath)

The Lake County brought Kerry back down to earth in Tralee and the half-back played a prominent role in their five point success.

6. Tadhg de Burca (Waterford)

Can consider himself unfortunate to have ended up on the losing side as he showed just how effective a sweeper can be with a five star performance.

7. David Fitzgerald (Clare)

Had his hands full with Austin Gleeson but stuck gamely to his task and was centrally involved in Tony Kelly's match-winning point.

8. Jamie Barron (Waterford)

Referee Diarmuid Kirwan's failure to award the midfielder a free in stoppage time turned out to be one of the main talking points from an entertaining replay.

9. James Doyle (Carlow)

Carlow ran Offaly close in Tullamore but the effort of midfielder Doyle, who raised three white flags, proved to be in vain.

10. Tony Kelly (Clare)

A delight to watch when in full flow, the former Hurler of the Year grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck and produced some moments of magic that will live long in the memory.

11. Austin Gleeson (Waterford)

Pushed further forward for the replay, the gifted Mount Sion man's three point haul included two that were of the top drawer variety.

12. Conor McGrath (Clare)

When things weren't going Clare's way, McGrath kept Davy Fitzgerald's men in touch and finished with eight points (three from play) to his name.

13. Patrick Curran (Waterford)

The Clare defence struggled to cope with the Dungarvan ace who registered 1-9 and also set up Jake Dillon for the Deise's second goal.

14. Shane Dooley (Offaly)

Illustrated his worth to the Faithful County cause with a return of 1-10 against the Barrowsiders.

15. Derek McNicholas (Westmeath)

Westmeath hurling is riding high on the crest of a wave at the moment and McNicholas continued his rich vein of scoring form with 1-3 against the Kingdom.
