Team news: Sheehan starts as Kingdom make two changes

April 21, 2016

Kerry's Bryan Sheehan and Conor O'Shea of Mayo

Bryan Sheehan comes back into the Kerry starting team in one of two changes for Sunday's Allianz FL Division 1 final against title holders Dublin at Croke Park.

Team-captain Sheehan is chosen at right half-forward ahead of Johnny Buckley, having made his return from a hand injury as a substitute in the 3-15 to 0-14 semi-final defeat of Roscommon.

Buckley was forced to retire with a knee injury in the early stages of the last four clash with the Rossies two weeks ago, with Sheehan coming on to replace him.

The other change sees Brendan Kealy regain the number one jersey over Brian Kelly as manager Eamonn Fitzmaurice continues the policy of rotating his goalkeepers.

The Kingdom are aiming to win their first FL crown since 2009 and to bring the Dubs' (who are 21 games unbeaten in league and championship) dominance to an end.

Kerry (NFL v Dublin): Brendan Kealy; Marc O Se, Mark Griffin, Shane Enright; Peter Crowley, Aidan O'Mahony, Fionn Fitzgerald; Kieran Donaghy, David Moran; Bryan Sheehan, Paul Murphy, Donnchadh Walsh; Darran O'Sullivan, Colm Cooper, Stephen O'Brien.

Subs: Brian Kelly, Johnny Buckley, Killian Young, Barry John Keane, Padraig O'Connor, Michael Geaney, Jonathan Lyne, Brendan O'Sullivan, Kieran O'Leary, Tommy Walsh, Denis Daly.
