Cork U21 football manager Sean Hayes is calling for some of next weekend's club championship games to be postponed in order to allow his players to prepare for the All-Ireland final against Mayo on Saturday week.

Michael Hurley, who was man of the match in the semi-final win over Monaghan, Sean White, captain Stephen Cronin and Dylan Quinn are among those who will be expected to line out for their clubs next weekend.

Hayes said in the Evening Echo: "We've made our feelings known. Fellows were tired after a very hard game and I think it's unfair to ask them to train and play with their clubs this week and then prepare for an All-Ireland final a week later."
