Cork clicked to send Monaghan packing in today's All-Ireland U-21 FC semi-final but Rebel County manager Sean Hayes says there is room for improvement ahead of their final showdown with Mayo.

Speaking to TG4's GAA BEO shortly after the final whistle, he commented: "We did make a few mistakes ourselves that we have to work on because we let Monaghan come back into the game.

"Monaghan are a good team and a very determined team so we were trying not to do that. Thankfully, we held out in the end.

"All over the field we had to battle and we did that. We held a very good Monaghan forward line quiet enough so we're delighted with it."

The victorious manager concluded: "We have to sit down now and see how good Mayo are and worry about that.

"They're a good side and it's going to be a challenge for us."
