Cork under-21 manager Sean Hayes has admitted that he hasn't seen Monaghan play, but is expecting a tough clash from the Ulster side in Saturday's All-Ireland football semi-final.

Hayes' charges are favourites to see off Monaghan and the Cork manager is relishing the test they will provide.

Speaking to the Southern Star, he said that they have made enquiries about their opponents and he's not surprised by what he heard.

"We haven't physically seen them, but we've made a few enquiries up north and we're hopeful of getting some information and knowledge on them," said Hayes.

"We know that they have to be a good team; they beat strong Donegal and Tyrone sides to win the provincial championship. They have Ryan McAnespie, Barry McGinn and Conor McCarthy, who have all played senior, so they'll be up for the battle."
