Michael Lyster has spoken of his wish to see the continued stand-off between Mickey Harte and RTE resolved.

The Tyrone manager hasn't spoken to the national broadcaster since it aired what was widely regarded as an offensive sketch on The John Murray Show in 2011 about the death of his daughter Michaela, who was murdered on honeymoon in Mauritius.

Despite negotiations between RTE and the Tyrone county board to heal the rift, a resolution has still to be found.

In an interview with Eamonn Mallie for Irish TV, 'Sunday Game' anchor Michael Lyster described the situation as "unfortunate", adding that "every effort had been made" to end the dispute.

"Mickey has his view and we have tried to cross the bridge on this one and it hasn't worked and that's the beginning and the end of it essentially," he said.

The full interview will be aired on Irish TV this Monday at 8pm.
