Cork should have three experienced players back for the start of the championship according to selector Eoin O'Neill.

Patrick Kelly, Alan O'Connor and Donncha O'Connor are all set to be back for the start of the Munster SFC in the summer.

All three players missed the league campaign but are set to return to action in the coming weeks which will be a huge boost for the Rebels following their relegation to Division Two.

O'Neill revealed to the Southern Star that Donncha O'Connor could have been used last weekend, while the other two are still recovering.

"Donncha was nearly right for Sunday, but we decided not to chance him. We want fellas 100 per cent," said O'Neill.

"Championship is our focus from now on. Some of the guys have miles on the clock. If we flog them to death in the league, they might break down for us later in the year.

"We have to be cognisant of that. We are hopeful that Patrick and Alan will be back for the championship."
