Kerry and Donegal have been hit with €5,000 fines arising from the ugly scenes which marred the counties' league clash in Tralee earlier this month.

It is believed that the GAA's Central Competitions Control Committee had proposed fining both counties €7,500 for an alleged breach of a rule dealing with the disruptive conduct at games by both players and officials.

However, after each county had sought a hearing with the Central Hearings Committee it found that the alleged infraction had been proven and fined the county boards €5,000 each.

Both counties will now be able to challenge the CHC's decision by appealing to the Central Appeals Committee.

Kerry full-forward Alan Fitzgerald and Donegal full-back Neil McGee were both handed one-match bans following the game which have since been served.
