The worrying condition of Dr Hyde Park has forced Roscommon to give up home advantage for Saturday's Connacht U21 FC final against Mayo.

The pitch was saturated and nigh on unplayable for Sunday's Division One clash with Mayo and is also due to stage the Round Seven NFL meeting with Dublin this Sunday.

In a quest to protect the surface ahead of the Dublin game, Roscommon chiefs have agreed to switch Saturday's provincial U21 decider to Markievicz Park, while the Connacht minor league game against Galway on Saturday has been moved from 'The Hyde' to Tuam.

According to Roscommon chairman Seamus Sweeney: "We host the Dubs in Hyde Park on Sunday and that has been marked on the calendar for a long time. We want to host the All-Ireland champions in Hyde Park.

"I'm confident that Peter Murray and his wonderful team will have the pitch in good order for Sunday. We hope to carry out major works on the pitch in the summer and have it ready for 2017."
