London scoring sensation Kevin O'Loughlin is good enough to play for his native Dublin, according to London hurling manager Fergus McMahon.

The Kilmacud Crokes export - now representing Sean Treacy's in the English capital - slotted ten points against Westmeath in the opening round and followed up with a sensational 3-9 salvo against Carlow in Division 2A of the national hurling league on Sunday.

"I'm trying to keep Kevin in London as long as I can and tell him Dublin are not going well at the minute. The talent is definitely there," McMahon says in The Irish Daily Star regarding the carpenter.

"His skill set is second to none. At that high level Dublin and them are at, it's nearly a full-time occupation. It's nearly professional at that stage with the time involved in it. I'm sure if it was something he was able to do, I don't see any reason why not.

"He was on the [Dublin] county panel a few years ago but I think with work and studying he kinda pulled off the panel. I asked him in last year and he said he couldn't commit to it. I asked him again this year after I seen him in Ruislip matches. He is a fantastic hurler.

"Last Sunday, he hit a line ball from each side of the field, 45 yards out - phenomenal. 3-9 in the conditions, it's an exceptional score. It was rainy, it was a cross-field breeze at times. He was exceptional, in fairness to him."
