Crossmaglen boss Oisin McConville says his side's missed chances against Castlebar last night was what left them ruining a painful defeat.

The Ulster champions went down on a narrow 0-13 to 0-12 score-line to their Connacht counterparts, ending their dreams of a seventh All-Ireland club SFC title, and afterwards McConville offered no excuses for the loss.

"This defeat really, really hurts," McConville told BBC Sport Northern Ireland.

"We didn't get the scores on the board and didn't take our chances. When you don't do that you get punished."

"The boys gave us everything on the day but we will come out fighting again next year. The club has a big future to look forward to."
