Dublin and Wexford will contest the Walsh Cup final at Croke Park next Saturday evening.

It follows their respective semi-final wins over Galway and Offaly today. In a re-run of November's controversial Fenway Classic in Boston, Dublin cruised to a 1-28 to 1-19 victory over the the holders at Parnell Park. David Treacy posted 0-12 for the hosts who dominated for long spells.

They signalled their intent by racing into a 0-5 to 0-0 lead inside the first 10 minutes, but the Tribesmen - who were without Joe Canning - fought back and David Burke's fortutious goal in the 32nd minute ensured them of parity, 1-9 to 0-12, at the break.

The sides twice traded points on the restart before substitute Eamon Dillon's goal put the Dubs on the road to victory. Dillon finished with 1-3 to his credit, with Niall McMorrow and David 'Dotsy' O'Callaghan contributing 0-4 and 0-3 respectively.

Scores proved much more difficult to come back in the other semi-final at New Ross which Wexford won on a 0-14 to 0-6 scoreline. The home side, for who Harry Kehoe registered 0-8, were always in control against a disappointing Offaly outfit. Indeed, dual star Shane Dooley was the only visiting player to trouble the scoreboard operator.
