Stephen Rochford will be ratified as Mayo's new football manager at a county board meeting tonight.

The Crossmolina man was officially interviewed for the job last Wednesday night and was the only candidate for the position, which has been vacant for nearly two months following the controversial exit of joint-managers Pat Holmes and Noel Connelly after just one season at the helm.

Rochford, who last week stepped down from his role as Corofin manager, will have former Armagh and Crossmaglen All-Ireland winner Tony McEntee, outgoing coach Donie Buckley and Sean Carey of Kiltane as his three selectors.

Arsenal FC employee Barry Solan and former Connacht and Ireland rugby player Gavin Duffy will be involved in strength and conditioning, while former Limerick manager and Ballinrobe native Maurice Horan will be responsible for analysis and video reviews.
