Na Piarsaigh only worrying about themselves

Na Piarsaigh manager Shane O'Neill says the Limerick champions will be focusing on themselves rather than the opposition ahead of next Sunday's Munster club SHC final.

The Sky Blues will face Waterford's Ballygunner in the Semple Stadium decider after edging past Thurles Sarsfields in yesterday's rescheduled semi-final at the Gaelic Grounds.

"We won't be looking at Ballygunner, we'll have to just look at ourselves and deal with what we thought our shortcomings here were throughout the whole game," O'Neill is quoted in the Irish Examiner.

"Even championship week training is more short, sharp sessions as opposed to anything major, so it will be something similar."

O'Neill was full of praise for a Sarsfields team still coming to terms with the tragic death of their selector Jack Griffin.

"Thurles are probably the best team we have played. We knew, particularly about their forward line, their movement and how strong they were in defence and the systems that they play. We were kind of expecting a particular system in a way, but we were prepared if they didn't and in fairness they didn't go with it immediately.

"I thought the boys' application and work-rate was just unbelievable."
