Shannon Gaels GAA will hold its annual dinner dance at Terrace on the Park in Queens, New York on Saturday November 28th, 2015. This year's Guests of Honor is the GAA Director General Páraic Duffy and his wife Vera.

Their visit to the Big Apple coincides with an historic moment in the history of Shannon Gaels GAA who are about to break ground on their "Field of Dreams". This project will renovate Frank Golden Park in College Point, Queens to include two large playing fields - one natural grass (Croke Park dimensions) and one synthetic turf - as well as seating, irrigation, fencing, and lighting.

As Director General of the GAA Páraic Duffy has and continues to offer encouragement, support and advice throughout all phase of preparation for this historic project. Shannon Gaels GAA is appreciative of his support and the significant financial commitment the GAA have made to this historic project.

Shannon Gaels GAA which was founded in April 2002 when a group of six committed parents decided to start an underage GAA club in Queens, New York. The club is fittingly named after the Shannon River, which flows through the four provinces of Ireland, to represent the many Gaels that reside in Queens.

Shannon Gaels has become one of the largest minor clubs in the New York tri-state area and one of the fastest growing minor clubs in North America, offering Gaelic football, hurling, camogie and a very active Scor Na Og program.

It is with this vision and foresight Gaelic Games and culture will continue to flourish beyond the shores of Ireland and enable our greatest asset, "our children" continue to experience the uniqueness of being Irish.
