Nemo Rangers (Cork) 1-13

Stradbally (Waterford) 0-5

James Masters scored the only goal a minute into the second half as Nemo Rangers eased to a Munster club SFC quarter-final victory over a jaded Stradbally team in Dungarvan tonight.

It was always going to be a tough task for Stradbally, who were playing their second game in 24 hours after beating Ballinacourty in the Waterford SFC final at the same venue last night. With Masters helping himself to 1-5, the Cork champions bossed proceedings to set up a provincial semi-final against Kerry representatives Legion or Dingle next weekend.

Nemo raced into a 0-5 to 0-1 lead after 10 minutes, but the locals put in a strong second quarter display to trail by three, 0-3 to 0-6, at the break.

But the outcome was effectively decided by Masters' palmed goal from captain Paul Kerrigan's pass within 70 seconds of the restart, with Stradbally having to wait until the 48th minute for their first score of the second half from Michael Sweeney, who had missed a great goal chance in the first half.
