Walsh withdraws from Glensmen race

October 13, 2015

Former Kilkenny goalkeeper Michael Walsh has declared himself out of the race to become Antrim senior hurling manager.

Interviews have yet to be held for the position, which has remained vacant since Kevin Ryan's term in charge ended in August.

Antrim PRO Sean Fleming told The Irish News: "The position we're in at the moment is that nobody has been interviewed as yet. Michael Walsh from Kilkenny withdrew and that's where we are at the minute.

"We do hope to appoint somebody before the 15th of November because that's when Antrim start training again, so we plan to have someone before that. But we're interested in appointing the right man."
