Dr Crokes 1-11

Austin Stacks 1-10

Eoin Brosnan scored a late winning point as Dr Crokes ended Austin Stacks' reign as county and provincial champions to progress to the quarter-finals of the Kerry SFC.

Colm Cooper contributed 1-3 (0-3 from frees) to the winners' tally in a game that only sparked to life after his Kerry team-mate Kieran Donaghy revived the holders with a 43rd minute goal. That helped Stacks turn a five-point deficit into a one-point lead, but the Killarney men weren't to be denied with Alan O'Sullivan levelling three minutes from the end before ex-county star Brosnan fired over the winner from long range.

Cooper gave Crokes a dream start when he collected a pass from Daithi Casey and planted the ball in the net with barely 20 seconds played. A Jordan Kiely brace of points made it 1-4 to 0-1 after 21 minutes, but Stacks replied with scores from Fiachna Mangan, Darragh O'Brien (free) and Greg Horan to trail by 0-5 to 1-6 at half-time.

Brian Looney fisted a point to extend Crokes' lead to five before Donaghy scored a trademark goal to bring the Tralee side back into it. Two Darragh Long frees helped to edge them ahead, but Crokes had the final say.
