Aughawillan's reign as Leitrim football champions came to an end yesterday when they succumbed to former kingpins Glencar/Manorhamilton in a niggly semi-final.

The holders finished the game with 13 players after full back Michael Quinn received a straight red card after only five minutes, while corner back Sean Quinn also saw red in the closing stages.

The Willies got off to a great start when Ciaran Gilheaney netted in the third minute, but Glencar/Manore replied with scores from Ronan Flynn, Conor Dolan, James Glancy, Niall Brady and Adrian Croal to lead by 0-8 to 1-3 at the break.

And they sealed a 1-12 to 1-7 victory thanks to Gerry Hickey's 37th minute goal.

Glencar/Manor's opponents in the final will be Mohill who defeated Gortletteragh 0-8 to 0-6 in the first semi-final at Pairc Sean.
