Limerick under-21 captain Diarmuid Byrnes believes that the hard work of the squad has got them to this year's All-Ireland final.

On Saturday (tomorrow), Byrnes will lead the Shannonsiders out against Wexford at Semple Stadium as they bid to lift the Cross of Cashel trophy.

Limerick are slight favourites to take the title, but Byrnes stressed to the Limerick Leader that they will have to work harder than ever to see off the challenge of the Slayneysiders.

"It's down to hard work - blocking, hooking and putting hits in with hard work and determination," said Byrnes.

"We have the talent - you can see it through the team. There is no good having skill if you don't have the ball and you get the ball through work rate.

"Matches are won on work rate and passion and if you have that you have it half won already."
