Anger and frustration has been expressed on social media over the length of time it took the Central Hearings Committee to rule on Tiernan McCann's case in Dublin last night.
As expected, McCann's appeal against a proposed eight-week ban for diving during the recent All-Ireland SFC quarter-final against Monaghan was lifted, which means he's eligible to line out for Tyrone against Kerry on Sunday. However, it wasn't until the early hours of the morning that a verdict was reached, which made for a very late night for the Killyclogher man, and to a number of media outlets 'jumping the gun' by speculating that the player had got off (luckily for them he did).
Hardly ideal preparation for Sunday's game, not to mention for the day's work ahead of him!
There we go. McCann free to play Sunday. He should be home for 3.30am. Up for work about 7am. Great preparation for his biggest game ever

Hearing from a cast-iron source that Tiernan McCann is still in a hearing. Some lads jumping too soon....

@Conmort I can see this hearing episode dragging on to the early hours ... It's a fun spot to be in. Criminals treated better! #iknow

@clucker60 @Conmort About 80 hours before a semi final. Great for preparation to be in a room getting grilled till all hours.

GAA disciplinary process as maddening as ever - cloak and dagger late night meetings with no info on anything. Misinformation is inevitable

So much drama on Twitter about Tiernan McCann. I mean, is there really a need to make such a big deal about a 'fringe' player #sorrynotsorry

Tweet@officialgaa should be ashamed of how Tiernan Mccann is being treated. 1am-still no decision #JeSuisTiernan #JeSuisTrEoghain
