This week back in 2010, Galway and Offaly played out a pulsating Leinster SHC draw at GAA headquarters.

The Faithful County, bidding for a first provincial final appearance since 2004, entered the penultimate stage clash as underdogs and they appeared to be in trouble when half-time substitute Dan Currams was sent for an early shower with 25 minutes to go.

But Joe Dooley's men produced a trademark never-say-die display and a 73rd minute Shane Dooley free sent the game to a replay.

The Croke Park scoreboard read Offaly 3-16, Galway 2-19 at the final whistle after Dooley, Joe Brady and Joe Bergin netted the goals for Offaly.

Joe Canning and Ger Farragher hit 1-6 and 1-5 respectively for the John McIntyre coached Galway and when the sides met again six days later in Portlaoise, late points from the aforementioned duo edged the Tribesmen through on a scoreline of 3-17 to 2-18.

Fast forward five years and this year's surprise packets Laois stand between the men from the west and a fourth Leinster final appearance.
