Rebels plan without suspended O'Sullivan

Cork's Jamie O'Sullivan gains possession against Tyrone. INPHO

Jamie O'Sullivan will miss Cork's Munster SFC semi-final against Clare on Sunday through suspension.

News of the ban comes as surprise as it was widely believed that the defender has escaped censure for an incident involving Dublin's Diarmuid Connolly during April's Allianz League final. But following the announcement of the Cork team last night, it emerged that the CCCC did charge O'Sullivan. Cork apparently didn't receive word of the retrospective ban until recently, meaning they had no time to lodge an appeal.

The Bishopstown man is one of four Cork players who will miss Sunday's game, with injury ruling out Eoin Cadogan, John O'Rourke and Tom Clancy.
