Feargal Logan has urged Tyrone to "keep working hard" at all levels after he steered the Red Hands to their fifth All-Ireland U21FC title on Saturday.

The success provides Tyrone with a timely boost after Mickey Harte's seniors were relegated to Division 2 of the Allianz Football League for 2016.

"Tyrone football has been around the houses over the past while, but this has provided it with a good boost and hopefully it can now progress at senior, minor and every level and keep going and working hard. We have to keep working hard," the victorious manager said.

"It was always going to take a lot of guts and determination to defeat Tipperary and we were well aware of their star men and their quality and ability. Luckily we just held in there and got through by the narrowest of points.

"They had all the momentum towards the finish and we managed to get there. I'm absolutely delighted.

Logan hailed the contribution of former All-Ireland senior winning captains Peter Canavan and Brian Dooher to the triumph.

"People might have thought that bringing Peter Canavan and Brian Dooher into the backroom team was for effect. But for those who know them, they don't do things for effect, they do them or reality and they have added massively to things," he added.

For Logan, it was a case of third time lucky in All-Ireland finals.

"I finally won one at the third time of asking. I have lost an All-Ireland final in '95 by a point, I lost an All-Ireland club final with Stewartstown Harps 10 years later, and finally got one, so nobody needs to tell me about how sore it is when you lose All-Ireland finals."
