Donegal manager Rory Gallagher admits that the players will be put through their paces over the next few weeks as preparation for the Ulster championship continues.

The Ulster side's league campaign came to an end last Sunday when Cork defeated them, but Gallagher already had one eye on the Ulster SFC clash against Tyrone on May 17th.

"The championship is the priority in inter-county football and the league is preparation for the championship," said Gallagher.

"The league semi-final was an extension of the league and a bonus game for us and a chance to try out a few things. But our focus all year has been towards Tyrone, in the championship on May 17th at MacCumhaill Park.

"The plan is a couple of weeks hard training. I'm looking forward to that though. I'm not sure the boys are but they are used to it and it is part and parcel of championship preparations.

"We have been carrying a fairly large squad all year and we said we would evaluate it at the end of the league and now that the league is over we will do that."
