Kevin Walsh admitted that Galway are suffering a crisis of confidence after they slumped to their third successive Allianz League defeat.

Since setting the early pace in Division 2 with wins over Meath and Westmeath, the Tribesmen have lost to Down, Cavan and now Laois to become embroiled in the relegation battle.

"Everything is still completely in our own hands, but it is going to take an awful lot of uplifting to get that confidence back," the Galway manager is quoted in the Irish Daily Star.

"A few mistakes out there really cost us at vital times in the game to put us on the back foot. It's awful disappointing. The lead at half-time, six points up and we threw it away again and not scoring in the second half.

"It's very disappointing. It's three losses in-a-row, the Down defeat started a downward spiral trend. There's a feeling that game was left behind, that shouldn't happen a confident team.

"The confidence is down and that's going to take a bit of lifting up, but that's what we have to do now."
