Mickey Harte has urged Tyrone to show some consistency when they host Derry in the national league on Saturday night.

The Red Hands' two Division One performances so far this year have been in stark contrast to one another - a second-half horror show against neighbours Monaghan in Omagh followed by a superb win over Mayo in Castlebar.

"We can't be ebbing and flowing from a bad result to a good result and to another bad one, or whatever," the three-times All-Ireland winning manager accepts in The Irish News.

"It's about getting a bit of consistency. That's the challenge for us now, to be consistent the next day we go out.

"That is a big challenge because it's always easier to raise your game after a poor one than it is to keep it at a high level when you have a decent game.

"It's an Ulster derby, it's a local derby, it's all of these things that make for a very level playing field. So we know we must be on our guard.

"We must be better than we were against Mayo if we're going to be sure of a victory and that's a big challenge for us."
