Roscommon manager John Evans is quite content to be sitting second in the table after two rounds of the Division Two campaign.

A draw and a win sees the Rossies sit on three points as they head into a three-week break and Evans is pleased with the attitude of the players so far.

Speaking to the Roscommon Herald, he said: "We're happier this week obviously but you need to be if you're going to consolidate your position in this division.

"At least we're not bottom of the table. We're second in the table at least. It's a great place to be and it is going to make the next three weeks enjoyable."

Evans also had a word of praise for the supporters. "It's great to hear that passion from the stands because the players have it as well. They're exuding enthusiasm. They're just great lads to work with."
