Thurles CBS (Tipperary) 1-9
Castletroy CC (Limerick) 0-11

Thurles CBS are through to their first Harty Cup final since 2011 after holding on for victory against 14-man Castletroy Community College at a wintery Toomevara today.

Despite having full forward Ian Coates sent off on a straight red card after only 10 minutes following an incident involving opponent Jack Derby, the Limerick side were in contention at the finish and would have forced a replay had Barry Nash not mis-hit his last-gasp effort.

Thurles laid the foundations for their victory in the closing stage of the first half when Ronan Heffernan and Michael Connors shot three unanswered points before Robbie Long scored the only goal in injury-time.

Favoured by the wind in the second half, Castletroy hit back with scores from Nash and fellow Limerick minor Andrew La Touche Cosgrave, but they couldn't regain parity as the Tipp boys edged into the final.
