Arthur McConville is relishing life under the guidance of new Down manager Jim McCorry.

The Mourne County scored their first win of the new regime against Monaghan at Clones on Sunday and McConville, who has been brought back into the Down squad by McCorry, spoke afterwards of his respect for the Lurgan native:

"Jim has brought a lot of confidence into the players," the Clonduff clubman says in The Irish News. "I feel a bit more confident playing under him, he's very easy to talk to.

"Any wonder Kilcoo are reigning champions, three in a row in Down. You'd love to play under him and I love playing under him at the minute.

"Hopefully we'll get a bit of silverware in the next couple of years. We know it won't be coming right away, but a year or two later, hopefully we'll get something."
