Kildare have new chairman

December 10, 2014

Ger Donnelly is the new Kildare County Board Chairman.

Kildare GAA enters a new era after they appointed a new chairman at last weekend's convention.

Outgoing chairman John McMahon lost out in the vote to Ger Donnelly who had been vice-chairman during McMahon's term.

Donnelly recorded a comfortable 104 to 49 win when the votes were counted and he becomes the second man from his club Castlemitchell to hold the position of county board chairman after Jack Wall.

There was also a change to the treasurer's position as Alan Dunney took over from Martin Whyte after his five-year term was completed.

The position of vice-chairman which was vacated by Donnelly has been taken over by St Laurence clubman Mick Gorman who was elected unopposed.
