Monaghan star Vinny Corey has warned his Clontibret team-mates that they will have to improve on their display against St Gall's if they are to overcome Slaughtneil in the Ulster Club SFC semi-final tomorrow.

The Monaghan champions trailed their Antrim counterparts by six points after just 10 minutes of their last eight clash and, speaking to The Belfast Telegraph, Corey said: "We couldn't get to the pace of St Gall's in the opening stages but once we dug in we went in three points down at half-time.

"We knew not to panic and we felt that if we settled even more after the break we might come good and that's what happened."

Supporters of Clontibret will look to Corey and his county colleagues Dessie Mone and Conor McManus to provide the leadership but he added: "I honestly believe that we have leaders in every sector.

"Different boys take responsibility at different times. If you didn't have that, then we would not have been able to make up deficits and win those recent close matches."
