Kingdom's application to play in Leinster MHC rejected

Kerry celebrate their 2014 All Ireland MHC B final win.

Kerry's minor hurlers won't be playing in Leinster next year.

Last night's Leinster Council meeting rejected the Kingdom's application to play in the preliminary section of the Leinster MHC and to join the Leinster MHL, which already includes Antrim and Down.

The Kerry minors were hammered by Cork (5-26 to 0-9) and Clare (6-25 to 0-11) in this year's Munster MHC, and it was felt that they would have a more realistic chance of winning against the likes of Carlow, Meath, Kildare and Westmeath. The Kingdom have defeated Meath in the last two All Ireland MHC B deciders.

Leinster also turned down Galway's proposal to join their minor and U21 hurling championships.
