St. Gall's manager Carl McCabe believes his team are better equipped to deal with blanket defences.

The eight-in-a-row Antrim kingpins succumbed to ultra-defensive Kilcoo and Glenswilly outfits in their last two Ulster club SFC campaigns, but McCabe feels they have learned their lessons and have benefited from an increase in defensive tactics within their own county.

"I wouldn't have said that Antrim football would have been overly systematic compared to what you are seeing at county level, but I think that has changed in the last couple of years," he tells the Belfast Telegraph ahead of Sunday's Ulster club SFC quarter-final against Clontibret in Clones.

"So that prepares you and obviously for us to not just survive, but push on and thrive, we have to look at ourselves in training and prepare accordingly in training.

"And if we can, source challenge matches against teams of a similar set-up, that can help too."
