Conway to renew old acquaintances

Antrim trainer Niall Conway

Niall Conway will be returning to where it all began for him as a manager when his Rock charges take on Moneymore in the Ulster club JFC quarter-final on Sunday week.

The former Ballinderry star started his managerial career with Moneymore in 2002 and insists he won't be taking them for granted when the Tyrone and Derry junior champions meet in what is a local derby clash.

Conway, who has guided Rock to a Tyrone JFC and JFL double and was in charge of the Derry minors when they reached the All-Ireland final in 2007, told the Tyrone Courier:  "I'll take Moneymore for starters, it's the first team that I ever managed. It will probably be in Owenbeg, and it's going to be a tough game.

"Promotion was the key, because everybody knows how hard it is to get out of junior football."
