Calry-St. Joseph's players made a touching visit to the grave of the club's much-missed PRO Gary Dillon with the Sligo IFC trophy yesterday.
Gary, who had Cystic Fibrosis, died last February, but his club-mates ensured he was part of the celebrations after their 4-9 to 0-6 victory over Shamrock Gaels at Markievicz Park by bringing the silverware to Scarden cemetery where the 31-year-old's remains rest.
It's almost a year ago since Gary featured on the Joe Brolly TV documentary 'Perfect Match', which was shown on RTE1 and focused on the former Derry star's campaign to transform the success rates of organ donation on the island of Ireland.
This lovely black and white photo, which was accompanied by the words 'This one's for you, Gary!", was posted on the Calry-St. Joseph's Facebook account last night.
Well done lads... A lovely gesture, Gary would be proud! @JoeBrolly1993 @CalryStJosephs #champions pic.twitter.com/BI687KCkBX
