Portaferry (Down) 2-17
Lisbellaw (Fermanagh) 1-11
In the battle of the St. Patrick's at Clones yesterday, Portaferry recorded their expected victory over Lisbellaw to qualify for the Ulster club SHC final, but they didn't have things all their own way against their gutsy Fermanagh opponents.
Two first half goals from Conor Mageean and Robert Magee set up the Down champions for the win. Lisbellaw were given hope when Sean Corrigan pulled a goal back five minutes into the second half and free-taker John Duffy and Daniel Teague tagged on points.
But Portaferry - who had the luxury of taking off Paul Braniff with 15 minutes to go - closed out the game with late scores from Ciaran Coulter and Aaron O'Prey.
'Ferry must wait to find out who their final opponents will be after extra-time failed to separate Slaughtneil (Derry) and Cushendall (Antrim) in the other penultimate round tie at Owenbeg.
