Turloughmore's hopes of being reinstated to the Galway SHC are still very much alive.
It comes after the Disputes Resolution Authority (DRA) ordered that a new committee be established to investigate the make-up of their team for the Galway SHC group game against Beagh on September 14.
Turloughmore were thrown out of the championship last week by the Galway CCC for fielding a player - Matthew Keating - who, it was claimed, had not received clearance to play against Beagh after returning from the US where he had played hurling for the summer.
After an appeal to the Connacht Council failed, Turloughmore turned to the DRA in a bid to be reinstated and yesterday Galway GAA CEO John Hynes issued the following statement which confirmed that today's scheduled Galway SHC quarter-final between Beagh and Ardrahan has been called off:
"Following the decision of the DRA at a meeting in Mullingar today, the Galway GAA Management Committee will now establish a new Investigation Committee to reprocess the request from the Beagh GAA Club to investigate the composition of the Turloughmore Team that played in the Galway Senior Hurling Championship Game on 14th September 2014.
"Consequently the Galway Senior Hurling Championship Quarter-Final game between Ardrahan and Beagh fixed for tomorrow, Sunday 12th October 2014, will not proceed!"
