St. Faithleach's set up a Roscommon SFC final date with five-in-a-row seeking St. Brigid's on October 19 after edging out Padraig Pearses in Saturday's rescheduled semi-final at Kiltoom.

However, the big talking point afterwards was the decision by referee Michael Brehony to disallow an equalising point by Pearses midfielder Niall Daly in the dying moments as Faithleach's held out for a 0-9 to 1-5 win.

The match official, who also awarded Pearses a second half penalty, only to change his mind and award a throw ball instead, required an escort at the final whistle as players, mentors and supporters  of Pearses vented their anger. Brehony's performance was later heavily criticised by St. Brigid's goalkeeper Shane Curran on twitter.

A Sean Fahy goal in the 12th minute helped Pearses to an early five-point lead, but six Diarmuid Murtagh frees nudged the winners ahead, 0-7 to 1-3, at the break.

Pearses had regained parity with 10 minutes remaining, but a superb Ciaran Murtagh point won it for the Ballyleague men.
