Noel Connelly's appointment as manager of the Mayo senior football team is, apparently, a done deal.

Following on from the interview process, there are reports circulating that early favourite Kevin McStay is out of the running and that the top table are to place their faith in a combination of former captain Connelly and Pat Holmes to replace James Horan.

It is understood that outgoing coach Donie Buckley will also be part of the new backroom team.
