There'll be a very special guard of honour for Kerry and Mayo

Two very important teams will join the minor and senior footballers from Mayo and Kerry for Sunday's All Ireland semi-final showcase in Croke Park.

Down Syndrome Ireland and Irish Autism Action, two of the GAA's partner charities for 2014, will play a key part in the Association's 'Inclusion Day'.

While Irish Autism Action ambassador Keith Duffy and Michael Gannon, representing Down Syndrome Ireland, will act as MCs on the big day, representatives from both charities will get an opportunity to provide a guard of honour as the teams enter the pitch and present the match balls to the game officials. Others will enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime behind-the-scenes experience by shadowing some of Croke Park's match-day teams, including the communications and media team, the grounds staff, stewards, and the welcoming team.

The CEO of Down Syndrome Ireland, Pat Clarke, and chairperson of Irish Autism Action, Alan Doyle, will be interviewed pitchside before the throw-in of the senior game, while both organisations will also receive a cheque for €20,000 provided to each of the GAA's five official charities.

Commenting on the upcoming Inclusion Day, Uachtarán Chumann Lúthchleas Gael Liam Ó Néill said: "We are delighted to welcome both Down Syndrome Ireland and Irish Autism Action to Croke Park on Sunday as they take part in what will be a great day.  We are committed to supporting our charities, and Sunday's All-Ireland Football semi-finals presents the Association with an opportunity to increase people's awareness about the great work that both charities do for so many people across the country."

This partnership day is part of the GAA's on-going commitment to delivering an Association that is open and inclusive to all, and one that ensures everyone can participate in and enjoy Gaelic Games and culture. It follows on from last weekend's successful 'Community and Health' theme at the Tipperary Cork hurling semi-final.
