Preview: All-Ireland SFC qualifier: Tyrone v Louth

June 28, 2014

Louth make the daunting trip to Omagh to take on Tyrone.
Louth make the daunting trip to Omagh on Saturday looking to get their "brutal" performance against Kildare in the Leinster SFC out of their system.

That was how captain Paddy Keenan described their 15-point reversal at the hands of the Lilywhites.

"It was brutal and it will be very hard to get back at it and pick ourselves up," the team's talisman said.

The qualifier draw did them no favours when pitting them against Mickey Harte's team who were also left to lick their wounds following their 0-14 to 1-12 Ulster SFC defeat by Monaghan.

In the meantime, manager Harte has called up exciting minor prospect Conor McKenna to the senior squad.

You would imagine that the best that Aidan O'Rourke's visitors can hope for is a much-improved performance but that is unlikely to be sufficient against a stronger Tyrone outfit.

Verdict - Tyrone.

Tyrone team: Niall Morgan; Aidan McCrory, Ronan McNamee, PJ Quinn; Ronan McNabb, Mattie Donnelly, Peter Harte; Colm Cavanagh, Sean Cavanagh; Emmett McKenna, Shay McGuigan, Ciaran McGinley; Darren McCurry, Stephen O'Neill, Connor McAliskey.

Louth team: Neil Gallagher; Padraig Rath, Dessie Finnegan, John Bingham; John O'Brien, Derek Crilly, Adrian Reid; Paddy Keenan, Mick Fanning; Andy McDonnell, Brian White, Derek Maguire; Colm Judge, Shane Lennon, Conor Grimes.

Match details: Saturday, Omagh, 2.30pm, extra-time playable.

Referee: Martin Duffy (Sligo).

Odds: Tyrone 1/16, Draw 18/1, Louth 15/2.
