Wyse "aware" of Brolly remarks

Joe Brolly has never been shy in courting publicity and he's getting plenty of it today after he compared Sky Sports' Rachel Wyse to a "Baywatch babe" on Twitter last night.

The outspoken RTE pundit has made no secret of his opposition to Sky Sports getting in on the gaelic games act and last night's tweet - "SKY = TV3 plus Baywatch babe" - generated plenty of activity on the social media site.

Journalist Elaine Byrne took him to the task when replying: "Joe @RACHEL_WYSE has represented Ireland internationally in sport. How dare you try justify sexism #BaywatchBabe #Misogynist".

But, as per usual, the 1993 Derry All-Ireland winner was not for backing down: "SKY's entrenched beautiful anchor formula is shamelessly sexist, designed for their overwhelmingly male audience. That is the point."

"@ElaineByrne @RACHEL_WYSE think whatever you like. SKY's sexist approach is absolutely shameless".

Rachel Wyse - who has represented Ireland in showjumping competitions - has, so far, maintained a dignified silence on the subject.

All she tweeted was: "I'm well aware of his remarks over the past few weeks" in reply to a user who drew her attention to Brolly's opinion.
