The funeral has taken place of former Tipperary hurling star Flor Coffey.
A native of Boherlahan, the two-time All-Ireland winner was laid to rest in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Thurles earlier today. He represented Tipp at minor and junior level before graduating to the senior team in 1943.
He won the first of his two All-Ireland medals in 1945 when lining out at corner back against Kilkenny in the final. He was centre back when Tipp beat Laois in the '49 decider. At club level, he won Tipperary SHC medals with Boherlahan and Thurles Sarsfields in 1941 and '52 respectively.
Predeceased by his wife Áine and son Flor (Jnr), Flor is survived by his children John, Pat, Kathleen and Gerard, brother John and extended family.
