Roscommon will be without their U21s for Saturday night's NFL Division Three final.

Even though the match is a full seven days before the Rossies lock horns with Dublin in the All-Ireland U21 FC final at Tullamore, senior manager John Evans has confirmed that none of Nigel Dineen's squad will be brought to Croke Park for this weekend's league final against Cavan.

This leaves the Rossies seniors without the six men who backbone the U21 side, while as many as four others could be ruled out through injury:

"We're going up with 21 or maybe 22 players," Kerry man Evans says in The Irish Independent. "The six U21s will be given a free hand to prepare for their All-Ireland final and they won't be with us this weekend.

"We have another few injuries so we're down a few bodies. But we're not bringing anyone in, we're going with what we have.

"We might be down a few bodies but that's just the way it is. We'll probably have a fairly different team out this weekend but it's a final and it is where you want to be."
