Podge Collins will make his first start of the season for the Clare hurlers against Waterford today.

The All Star attacker, who has been juggling his hurling and football commitments in recent weeks, is named at centre forward in a team that shows four changes in personnel from that which defeated Tipperary last Sunday.

Collins' inclusion on the '40' sees Peter Duggan move to right half forward, with John Conlon on the other wing. Shane O'Donnell also returns at full forward with Cathal McInerney also starting in place of the injured Darach Honan, who Collins replaced against Tipp.

Like Collins, Domhnall O'Donovan gets his first league start at corner back in place of the injured Seadna Morey, while Colin Ryan partners Pat Donnellan at midfield as Colm Galvin drops out of the side. Cathal O'Connell is also omitted after starting at corner forward last weekend.

Clare (SH v Waterford): D Tuohy; D McInerney, C Dillon, D O'Donovan; B Bugler, Conor Ryan, P O'Connor; P Donnellan, Colin Ryan; P Duggan, P Collins, J Conlon; C McInerney, S O'Donnell, C McGrath.
