Poor turn out at Wicklow Under 21 trails
Wicklow under-21 football manager Stevie Cushe has urged clubs to ensure that their best players are made available to the county team.
Cushe was speaking after a recent under-21 trial was poorly attended and the new manager believes that a lack of communication between clubs and players was the reason behind the poor attendance.
"We went the clubs to get behind us, in a big way; it's all about the clubs," Cushe states in this week's Wicklow People. "We had a trial there on Tuesday night and we had a very bad turnout but we found out afterwards that some players hadn't been notified by their clubs.
"If there's a player out there good enough to play, get him in here. We've tried to take it into our own hands to go and contact these lads and get them in but I'll say this, anyone that wants to play under-21 football for Wicklow, please give us a shout, and I mean that, anyone, and we'll get them in and give them a look."
