Castletown Geoghegan 1-13
Carlow's Mount Leinster Rangers produced a strong second half showing to edge a close Leinster Club SHC encounter against Castletown Geoghegan of Westmeath in Mullingar yesterday.
An Alan Mangan goal helped a establish a 1-7 to 0-5 half-time lead for the hosts but Mount Leinster Rangers outscored their opponents by 1-10 to 0-6 in the second half.
The visitors enjoyed a perfect start to the second half when Edward Byrne goaled inside 50 seconds of the restart and they held the upperhand for the remainder of the contest.
The win was tarnished somewhat, however, by a nasty skirmish that developed after the final whistle.
Nobody was carded.
