Donegal SHC final: Burt do it again
September 15, 2013
Burt 3-13
Setanta 2-14
Burt completed a three-in-a-row of Donegal SHC successes at Setanta's expense in Letterkenny yesterday.
The holders won far more convincingly that the scoreline suggests, having taken a commanding 3-9 to 0-8 lead into the break thanks to second quarter goals from Stephen Gillespie, Niall Campbell and Stephen Boyle.
When Burt extended their lead to 11 points after the restart, Setanta were staring at a heavy defeat, but they dug deep to score 1-3 without reply, with the goal coming from a Kevin Campbell penalty.
Setanta had Bernard O'Brien sent off with 10 minutes to go before a second goal from Campbell - who top-scored with 2-10 - left just two points in it at the end.
